When I first started this blog, the title I wanted to use was “I Love My Deep Freezer”. Strange name, right?
Luckily I didn’t, because there’s so much more I want to write about and share beyond just freezer cooking (like the many adventures that come with having 3 kids in 3 years), but the fact still remains–I really do love my deep freezer.
And the funny thing is, how I ended up with a deep freezer in my kitchen really had nothing to do with freezer cooking at all.
Actually, I was completely scared of freezer cooking. The whole process intimidated me. If you had asked me about freezer cooking a couple years ago, I would have told you that I could never be one of those people who did “once a month cooking” (back when I thought that’s the only way you could do it).
Those people had a system for budgeting, buying, cooking–all the things related to freezer cooking that I had no clue about. They probably devoted an entire day to it, had loads of counter space, and of course, plenty of space in their freezer for all the food to go.
But it also intrigued me.
I was about to have my second baby and I knew I was going to need all the help I could get. Little did I know that it would totally change my life.
There have been bumps along the way (like when I set out to do it for the first time), but all in all, I know that I can never go back to how I did dinner time before.
Having meals helped me SO MUCH after I had my second baby, and just recently after I had my third. It is so nice not having to worry about what’s for dinner every night!
It has also helped us trim down our grocery budget, which I see as an added bonus because the convenience of having meals ready to go is the bigger draw for me.
So this is my story, and on this blog I get to share my adventures with you. I’m so glad you’re here and I hope you can discover for yourself how helpful freezer cooking can be.
