Wow, guys, this has been such a crazy couple of weeks. We closed on our house a little less than two weeks ago, and ever since then it has been a whirlwind of packing, repairing, painting, furniture shopping, keeping our 3 small children bathed and fed–and we managed to squeeze in a babymoon in the midst of it all.
I wrote how this all came about as a blessing in disguise when our landlord decided to raise our rent sort of ridiculously high, prompting us to move up our “buy a home” timetable.
But overall things have been pretty smooth so far with the process of purchasing our first home. Other than the timing, of course–moving at 8 months pregnant again. The trend stops here. Never again! 🙂
Moving is just so hectic and chaotic no matter how organized you try to be. One thing that has been helping a little is having a stash of freezer meals. I’ve been making my way through the “reserves” (aka the bottom of the deep freezer) and it has helped me avoid last minute take-out for the most part. Of course this means I will need to do a huge freezer cooking session once we’re settled in preparation for the baby, but one thing at a time!
There has been a lot of this.
And a lot of this.
This baby is going to come out with quite a taste for coffee. Sorry, 4th baby in 4.5 years. Coffee is a necessity. It sure is nice of Starbucks to have their annual frappucino happy hour promotion during the week of our move. I’m taking full advantage of it. (Have you tried the s’mores frap? So good!)
And speaking of 4th baby, this is belly of mine just keeps on growing. I’m approaching that last month of pregnancy when Tums are my meal of choice and going up the stairs makes me totally out of breath. All you fit and active pregnant moms–I really don’t know how you do it!
We are praying and planning on this Friday being our official moving day. I’m telling myself to take my time with the unpacking because this is the most permanent move we’ve ever made and there’s no hurry to get it all done.
But I know myself. I will tackle “nesting” with every bit of energy I can muster, assuming baby follows after his older brothers and sister and stays put for another 7ish weeks.
So that’s what we’ve been up to! Thanks for reading, and I’d so appreciate your prayers for busy days we have ahead.
